For those of you that don’t know Alyssa Valdez very well, her nickname is baldo and all of her teammates call her that including her childhood friends and classmates. I could say that people that call Alyssa Valdez baldo are her close friends but there are also some people that doesn’t call her baldo but instead call her Aly. Baldo was her nickname ever since she was a kid and up until now in UAAP, her teammates, coaching staffs and campus friends call her that. She is indeed a great volleyball player and a lot of people know the name Alyssa Baldo Valdez as a rising star in the UAAP women’s volleyball division.

First of all, I thought that Baldo is Alyssa Valdez’s middle name but after several query, I found out that it was actually just her nickname. People are used of calling Alyssa Valdez, Baldo and she also loved to be called by that name. She simply used to the fact that people call her by that name and she is very proud that the name Baldo is her nickname. Actually it sounds unique for a girl to be called by that nickname because it sounds more of like a nickname for a boy and not for a girl. But in the world of volleyball, Alyssa Valdez is not a girl but she is a woman because she has grown so much and developed so much skill in that sport.

As a huge fan of Alyssa Valdez, words can’t articulate how good she is and I could clearly see a great future with this kid. She is still very young yet she is very composed and works so hard in improving her game day after day. She really wants to improve more so that she will be able to lead her team towards another championship victory. She is a great player and right now a great leader of the team because just recently, she was appointed as the captain of the team and her team really relies on her skill and leadership on and off the court. I hope that Alyssa Baldo Valdez will be able to reach the peak of her career and be able to win another UAAP women’s volleyball championship this year.
